Why choose fish?
It is not only delicious but it is also one of the most nutritious
foods we can eat. The British Nutrition Foundation say we should
be eating at least two portions of fish every week, at least one
of which should be oil-rich
Compared with other protein rich foods, fish is excellent value for money: there is generally little wastage, it is quick to cook, easy to prepare and extremely versatile.
Northern Ireland Seafood
carry out a range of marketing activities designed especially for
the consumer, including seafood cookery demonstrations, retail promotions
and competitions. NIS is also actively involved in the National
Seafood Week promotion which takes place in October. Other
marketing initiatives include the production of a seafood restaurant
guide, a seafood calendar and recipe leaflets.
